What is bonded washers?
Bonded washer seals are Commonly known as Dowty Seals, which were originally designed to replace copper type washer which are used in high pressure systems, they are comprised of metal washer and an elastomeric ring which is boned inside the diameter. the metal washer prevents over-comprssion and limits deformation of the elastomeric rings.
And the bonded washer are applied in high pressure seals, which are used in Mechanical, hydraulic and Pneumatic sectors. Particularly suitable for sealing under the heads of bolts and threaded components, for Pipe Couplings and a wide range of connector applications where a perfect face-to-face contact is required for sealing gases, oils, and other fluids.
Bonded washer Chariacteristics:
- Ideal Pressure gasket.
- Reliabale sealing at high & low pressure system or sectors.
- High & low temperature capbility
- Reduced bolt troque with no loss of tightening Loads.
- Metal ring prevents rubber compression.
Material of bonded seals
- Metal - Mild steel, Copper, stainless steel, brass, carbon, Aluminium alloy,aluminiu bronze etc.
- Rubber - Nitrile (NBR), Viton® (FKM/FPM), Hydrogenated Nitrile (HNBR), & Ethylene propylene (EPDM), Fluorosilicone (FVMQ).
- Plating - Zinc , Clear Passivate, Gold Passivate, Chromic Anodise, Sulphuric Anodise, Iron and Black Chromate, Sherardize 2000
